peanuts (feat. np, jt of ngk, and jack blake)

track #

5

date

august 24, 2025

this song originally began as a hype track. i wanted to have a bunch of friends rap on it, which originally did happen. during a pretty memorable weekend at our apartment (for all good and bad reasons), i made a couple beats from this album through some speakers. i let my friends freestyle on the drum break section of the track, but it never got fully recorded. and as i developed my rapping skills, i decided to release this as a single in 2024. now that more time has passed and i've had more time to flesh out the album, this song can return to its fully glory of what it was always meant to be. shoutout daniel, jt, and jack for providing hilarious and animated verses. in jack's case, he's here for flavor and for a nice low white boy laugh.

this is basically one of the only songs without significant purpose, with the name being called peanuts to describe a 'peanut gallery'. whether it's my friends on the track, people in society, or a potential peanut gallery in my head, i wanted to use this song to stretch the meaning of words to their absolute limit. every line on this song is meant to demonstrate that rap has no rules, and the only rules are the ones you place upon yourself. as long as your words feel meaningful to you, and you can prove to yourself that they are clever and are well constructed, then you can turn any thought into a line for a rap song. stretching the limit of imagination, as we tend to diminish what we create.
